I went to a couple of their events, TBH much of the nostalgia associated with them merely stems from the fact that in 1991/2 was a genuinely new phenomenon and that SP23 were pioneers in providing an alternative to the expensive commercial raves. if you went to any free party in those days someone from Spiral Tribe would have had some involvement in it, as they were the main people spreading the word.
In those days getting the resources and equipment together to set up a rig or produce music was a lot harder - sometimes we forget how much technology and the availability of equipment has advanced in 14 years, and that mobile comms and internet were not as common then.
nowadays there are loads of crews, loads of parties and far more things happening; however people understandably look on the early days with rose-tinted specs. I would be inclined to argue that any free party crew which is putting on events for the right reasons is indulging in "spirally antics!"

I've just come across this forum and I have also got one of the grey t shirts. I got it free as I used to play for the spirals. In case anyone is interested.........IT'S NOT FOR SALE!!!
These are some of the parties I went to and played at...
Rose Farm. Cable Street, Longstock, Torpedo Town, Happy Daze(Bala), Canary Wharf, Acton, Tunbridge Wells, Ascot, Arundel, Withypool Common
plus various squats and schools, libraries etc in town.
I've also got some of the fliers and propaganda from the day and the first three records they produced. These are not for sale either unless I get a v good offer!

For the information of all the delightful habituators of this electronic discussion forum ........
after much thoughtful ponderation over by me and the respected Mrs Fluxus, the above discussed t shirt will be offered up for sale to the highest bidder on the highly popular intermaweb auction site ebay.co.uk.
This will be a terrible loss to us and the agony of the memory of our first repetitive beats at Longstock will never fade. But as the dreadlocked painter and decorator said after the first burgalry - 'don't get hung up on material goods man'
and so we sell the revolution to some booger encrusted septic tank.
Watch the evilbay in the days to come
we await your hard earned with glee

I still got the black spirally MC Escher t-shirt I used to wear at Spiral Tribes such as Camden Roundhouse and Uxbridge. Its not for sale soz if I moved it, it would fall apart!!
I also still have 2 cassettes bought from the back of a rig, original Spiral Tribe. I really need to get these transferred onto disc/mp3 but no idea how. Also got several recordings from the pirate stations of the day (German techno at its bestest!!!)
I need to find a copying company. Only just found this site, once I'm sorted I will come back and let you have copies if you want. (Start one of those 'tree' thingies...:-))

Hi everyone, new to this forum. I print t shirts, and i was thinking, why don't spiral get another batch printed up to put on ebay (this is not me advertising my servives!). Obviously they wont be as sought after as the originals, but if you did like a run of 20 or so, judging by the responce on here, u'd easily sell em, even if if it was just to people that used to have an original, and wouldn't mind owning a new one. I looked at the ebay auction of one, and they look like phat shirts anyways. *shrugs*

Not got one then make one !
Anyway the best words were 'Rush your fucking bollox off' made be buzz
A fine time on the common, a jump in the quarry lake, Wango Rileys and asking ravers to keep their shit in their cars not on the ground.
Big love and don't be a slave to the vertical smile....

Was it worth it?
For £36? You can probably just afford a trip to the supermarket!

i recon they would sell like hotcakes- i mean who's gonna know or care if theyre "original"? not your average raver, and crews like exodus and spiral tribe ar so coated in mythology now that their "brands" will sell nae probs.
if you can get the use of the words then youre away.
where do you print btw? ive been lookin fra print job for six months around brighton, and it just isnt happenin at all- any advice?

Just wanting to say hi!!! I was bored and searched for Spiral Tribe just to see if they are still around -I was partying in London in 1993 ,and went to many many squats all over London partying (Acton -had a great night!!!)
Used to go to Bedlam mainly in Hackney -anyone remember the old library in Hackney New years '92 ?? so cool ,and first place I saw ketamine (lot of very happy clubbers that night) -an ABSOLUTE TOP NIGHT
glad to see all the interest in Spiral in Europe too ..... after the big '92 thing in the UK it felt a lot like there was only us guys in London still doing the thing for a while -also saw DJ Aztek many many times in '93 .... he was a friend of a friend and a VERY VERY FUNNY GUY to hang out with :P
