i've just read this on drugscope:

At some clubs in Holland, users can submit their pills to a rough test to get some idea what is in them before they decide to take them. Recently a company introduced a similar testing kit in the UK but this has been criticised by the government as condoning drug use, despite its potential for reducing harm. The police have also warned that anybody handing back a tablet after testing it, could in theory be prosecuted for supplying the drug.

:mad_curse  :annoyed: :head_bang

this makes no fucking sense! it's a great idea to run this sort of system, why do the coppers and the government have a problem with reducing harm?!!

a simple answer.... they see it as encouraging the use of drugs.. the government isn't run by open minded people.

Also i think if a club in the UK did this the government would comedown on them for allowing drug use on thier premises. I am sure the government would rather put more effort into stopping people taking drugs rather that reducing harm.

It is a good idea though, but then again i dont usually buy pills and if i do its not usually in the club. So you could just buy a testing kit and test them yourself at home. I think this is what the quote from drug scope is about as i cannot see any club wanting this risk.

traibal gathering had a testing tent one year. dealers could test a couple from a batch and if they were good quality, have them individually sealed into baggies with a mark of quality :weee:
