PV appeals to me the most, most of the people here I can relate to.

If I want to check out whats going on, on the weekends then I go on Squatjuice.

I don't get involved usually on SJ I just read where as PV i can talk to anyone and not feel like im unwelcomed like Sj.

Ying and the yang of the Internet rave culture. Can't have one without the other, the forces would be all unbalanced.

Although I've made a lot of wicked contacts through both SJ and PV. In the real world I twend to deny all knowledge!

PV, no doubt. SJ is so fuckin hostile, I occasionaly read it but wouldn't post because it's just no friendly at all. There are much better discussions about politicical issues and people seem to know their stuff better on PV, as well as being more welcoming and nicer.

i think the whole layout of PV probably helps the friendly feel and yeh i hav to admit it's a lot easier to jump into discussion wit ppl on PV than on SJ. I dont post on SJ but still read up on things there.

Yeah i do read SJ for info, posted once i think and wont do again. :groucho:

The problem is you can get a lot of info from the site but you have to read through 5 pages of utter shit to get to what you wanted to read about.

sj makes me laugh and tend to have a lot more about raves after they've happened. But there is a lot of jokey paranoia with the whole OB thing. But ive made a few contacts on here n people have helped me out with things which i dnt think they wld on SJ unless u'd met. Both good for different things, but i post on pv n dont on sj so i think pv has the edge

I think its "quieter" on here as a lot more of our users (even the older ones!) are still out and about raving rather than sitting on their arses snorting ketiums and doing valium - (FFS benzos are the sort of drugs that my Dad used to take!!) , then moaning about "how the scene is dead" and looking for horse and granny porn to try and gross out their mates with.

Its only because of the shite weather, and a lack of motivation amongst people far younger than me (who were supposed to do something last night :groucho:) that I am sat on my arse in front of this computer.

As soon as I get a few phone calls I am on a mission for tonight :groucho: to make the most of what remains of the weekend..

Although I've made a lot of wicked contacts through both SJ and PV. In the real world I twend to deny all knowledge!
true - I tend to be too mashed to talk about the bloody internet!

I work with computers, databases and numbers for a living and have done for 20+ years..., although I don't mind helping friends fix theirs when round someones house, at a rave or party I just want to get away from all that stuff and have fun.. raaa

I find Squatjuice friendly - because I can take things with a pinch of salt, and realise that it's just banter.

I use it a lot, and I enjoy my time there. I've met a lot of safe people, and made some good friends. If it wasn't for that site then a large proportion of the contacts I have and the people I know from parties, well, I just wouldn't have.

There's a lot of good music links. It's funny, intelligent (when you want it to be), very opinionated (which is a good thing), fast moving and it appeals to my dark-side!

But I feel my time there is done. Think I may stick around here.

DOA is full of stupid Americans..

Drum & Bass Arena is better for DnB, its like Squatjuice but Moderated.

Edit - By the way, I have nothing against Americans, just the ones on DOA im calling stupid :)

thing is on SJ people say "it's just banter" but it spills over into real life (domestic violence, fights etc) so it isn't banter

Very rarely. And besides, it usually spill from real life, onto the internet (with a screen as a shield) and then back into real life.

And who cares anyway, if two people have differences then they should sort them out - if they can't do it responsibly then they should fight like the children they are.

When squatjuice isn't working / is dead I come here for a natter,

Partyvibe's like the younger, less attractive sister to Squatjuice, that you don't particularly like but will still go and give it a poke when the bigger sister's on the rag. Getterz?

Surely it's a case of the older and wiser sister who's been there, done that, can't be bothered with people being unpleasant to one another at her age, isn't interested in bullies and speaks English?

PV has been around since the late 1990s, very soon after the Internet was released to the public.

Yes it is stuck in a 1990s timewarp when raves were supposedly a bit "fluffier", (albeit with more advanced software these days) but thats how we like it :groucho:

And who cares anyway, if two people have differences then they should sort them out - if they can't do it responsibly then they should fight like the children they are.

you're lucky enough to live in East Anglia where there hasn't (yet) been too much of a problem with this.

The problem isn't so much that people fight - boys especially will always fight - but that now they are prepared to do this in the middle of a party rather than just in their own "ends".

if parties and the party scene becomes places for people "settling scores" (as they have already done in London/SE England) the Police can claim every moral right to clamp down on them- they can argue that they are a source of serious violent crime.

Forces in areas where there is more of a "street culture" of fighting already use this as a one reason for shutting down events.

A party where people have all done K and other drugs is also unfortunately a perfect place for a "one punch death", where a minor fight becomes fatal as one of the fighters cracks their skull on the ground or a hard surface - plus its clear from "stella head" that its not uncommon for people to bring weapons such as cricket bats to raves these days. The days of fighting with "Queensbury rules" disappeared in the 1950s with the Teddy Boys..

And even if all of you think the two idiots who are fighting are equally bad and deserve one another, think of this -

All it takes is for a single drop of claret to go on a speaker or other piece of equipment during a fight where someone is hurt or killed, the Police can seize the lot as "evidence from a crime scene" and keep it for as "long as needed" to do their forensic work. This actually happened to a crew from SE England when someone got stabbed in front of their stack.

Lot of the SJ people have accounts here..

But a lot of PV people have accounts on SJ too..

You can sometimes get some decent information there, they are not all bad mannered, loud and terrible people..

I think the people on SJ have a different view on things, but I think they really care about each other no matter how terrible they sound..

They go to BBQ's together , beach parties, they were a bunch who took to France together, they meet at strawberry fair, and had a great time..

I don't think they are so bad as it sounds, but they might get their daily frustrations out by being there..

I think that's better than going out and kick somebody's head in

I'm glad they are not here anymore, but i had a great laugh when they were..

Kick my head in :weee:

Actually while we're on the subjet I see squatjuice as the crusty old alcoholic who lives in the pub chain smoking.

He'll rant on about freedom and what it means to him but all it really amounts to his selfish right to indulge and get drunk at expense of everything else.

Freedom's a responsibility, it's not selfish and it doesn't come at other people's expense. It's having an opinion and being able to express it without fear...
