First chance I've had to check this forum in the morning for a few days - my works internet connection randomly disappeared because someone at the BT exchange had disconnected it!
It took two days for BT to get it the fault logged with the engineers despite us chasing every 4 hours for progress, they even at one point said it would take a week to fix... [1]
so I had to spend this morning setting up a computer at a backup site...
When I came back to our main office the broadband signal was back - but the router would not longer connect to the net! :you_crazy:crazy_diz
Luckily I found a "spare" BT-provided router (intended for another site) which worked but I have had to reconfigure all the WLAN PCs (as the encrypt code is now different!)....
Apparently BT are upgrading lots of broadband circuits in some areas so it looks like some planned maintenance went pear-shaped, added to which the line came back as a "newer" one which didn't work with this old router..
The router may work if I upgrade its firmware - but of course I couldn't find this out this morning as I didn't have any internet access!
thought I'd let everyone know in case anyone else has encountered a similar problem.. glad to be back on line (and not have people asking me "when will it all be fixed?")
[1] unfortunately even different providers are held back by BT as they still control the exchanges and BT Openreach have a 2-5 day turnaround :yakk: for anything
