Snorting Percocet?

Is it better to snort Percocet or not to? And if so what are the side effects?

having looked up just what this stuff actually is (AFAIK its not very common in the UK!) I can't see any advantage in snorting it as opposed to just taking the tablets. the side effects would remain the same as taking the drug in tablet form; with the addition of random nosebleeds ad a greater risk of overdose if you don't know or forget how many tablets have been crushed up!

For the benefit of UK and european readers who may not have come across the substance, its a form of opiate-based pain killer; The nearest equivalent I could think of in Britain would be the DF/118 equivalents or co-proxamol

If you're gonna divert legal pharm supplies to recreational use, IMO you might as well follow the manufacturers instructions as to how to take them; and regulate the dose. This stuff can fuck up your internal organs big time if you overdo it.

TBH I'm a bit uncomfortable with the idea of using this kind of stuff recreationally. Round my way these "DF/118" tablets are valued by the smackheads if the heroin supply goes dry- there was even a local band named after them, and ironically its also the area code for my city which has one of the largest populations of problem drug users outside London! That said one or two won't hurt (or may dull the pain if you have over-exerted yourself at parties or sports) but its easy to fall down the slippery slope. I tend to associate these things with smackheads and suicides.

I've bumped perc's... it's the same as swallowing them, it doesn't really make a note-able difference, I would just take them normally, less work.

:yakk: IT BURNS! I wouldn't advise it. I did it once and it burns like hell plus just one pill will make the biggest pile and its almost impossible to snort it on your own. And after you do like say you snort it up your left nostril, your left eye will water and burn like hell forever!! It's not worth it cuz the effects are no different then eating them besides it might hit you a couple minutes earlier. But after breaking it down and snorting the monster of a pile it would of already kicked in if you would have eaten it. The best pill to snort is oxys. Their highly addictive though so I wouldn't recommend that either.

I randomly came across this thread searching the internet and having snorted plenty of percocet I know there is a difference. Bigger and better high kicks in faster but crushing it up dose produce alot of powder. If you have enough percocet just take but if you only have 1 snort it.

even calpol is only a suspension ie solid particles in a liquid; paracetamol does not dissolve well outside the stomach

BTW the paracetamol/cowotsit combo: dont snort more than the recommended number in a 24 hr period as the paracetamol can accumulate in your body and is very poisonous when it does so [ leads to major organ failure after which you need a liver etc transplant to survive] not my idea of fun

i've snorted all types of percs... perc fives, tens, the blue roxies (perc 30)...i def. think snorting the pills gives you a better high than taking them by the mouth... its just very habit forming and addictive so be careful..

I snort the clean ones, meaning the ones that have no tylenol in the,. They are fine and don't burn or bother my eyes. I can't possibly see doing the ones with 300-500mg of tylenol, thats just crazy. I would bump it, but I already have aot of marks from when I used to do bodybuilding and we all used nubain to be able to work out harder (nalbuphine hydrochloride). Actually looking at some yummies right now!

In some cases like mine it's a matter of convenience. 1st I have a script for the 30mg oxy's with no tylenol and a fen patch and the insurance pys for it. When my local dealer starts to take Blue Cross I'll be all over it :weee:

Okay it doesn't hurt. Whatever anyone says it may sting for like a second but its pretty benign. It after all is an opiod which is a pain killer. It numbs you membranes. It does have Tylenol in it and that may sting. It reaches your system a hell of a lot faster so you get the quicker high. Maybe half a pill snorted and a whole one by mouth. But whatever it hurts a little more than coke.

I was recently in a car accident and I broke my tibia and fibula. I went through some surgery and had some screws and a plate put in.

Before coming home, my doctor prescribed percocet. He put me on 2 5mg tablets every 4 hours, but lately I've been spacing it to 8 hours, because most of the pain has subsided.

I was going to hold back on a few doses and enjoy myself for a night, but I need to know the facts first, and most of the internet is biased against opiates so information is hard to find.

The advice I need is whether I should do this or not, as it may lower my tolerance in the event my pain increases. How many 5mg tablets should I take? and should I take them all at once? these are things I need to know.

Any help would be much appreciated, for I'm mostly a pothead and not an experienced pill popper. Thanks

Opiates depress the central nervous system which means in overdose they can stop you breathing.

Percocet has the added ingredient of acetaminophen [paracetomol in the uk] and this is present in some tablets at 650mg per tablet; the per dose maximum safe limit is thought to be 1000mg [acetaminophen is very toxic to the liver and overdose can cause permanent organ damage] The daily maximum limit recommended for acetaminophen is 4000mg a day [that works out at about 6 tablets for the ones with 650mg acetaminophen btw]

I personally wouldnt even have considered taking these for fun due to the acetaminophen in them. The safety information was found here:

But realize it is not coke or heroin, the pill dust does not absorb as well into the blood stream so you are wasting it.

The best thing to do if you want the percocet to hit you fast is to chew the whole thing up in your mouth into a mush then swallow with water.

This hits you almost as quick as snorting and you get the whole pill.

And I definitely feel the difference between snorting and orally injesting percs.
I feel way higher when I snort them (and it's obviously quicker).

co-proxamol is orible stuff .. take one or two like your suposed to and it's a good pain killer ... but if you take a few more .. then you will be violantly sick (this is from personaly experiance) it's not like a nice smacky buzz ... it's proper stomach cramps throwing up if you move kinda illness and your whole body aches

i got hit with a metal bar and my nose got smashed into three pieces and was snorting k pretty much as soon as i came out of anasthisia after the rebuild op.. dont do it .. i have real bad synus problems cos of it .. it was either the snorting of drugs wheen my nose was suposed to be healing .. or the fact that my nose was smashed ... but i wouldn't risk it ... tring to explain why i have a constant cold to my work mates it a pain in the arse

Okay look, ive been snorting (i like to call it railing, so thats what it will be called from here on) perc 5's, 7.5's, 10's, and every mg of oxy they've made(including heroin, coke, and meth ((occasionaly)) for about 4 years now on a daily basis.

I honestly couldnt even tell you the last time i have missed a day without railing at least 2 pills. I have NEVER popped an opiate, nor do i ever plan to. The only thing that i find to be the hardest thing about railing any drug (especially pills for some reason...) is that I seem to be addicted to the JUST process of snorting the "substance", then i am addicted to the drug itself.

So if you DO end up deciding to do it, then just make sure its want you want to do..

Oh, and make 100% sure your pills are crushed up to the finest consistancy as you possible can. What i usually do is take them and run them up and down a chesse grader (the smaller side) until you have just a little chunk then. Then just take a credit card and press it all onto a hard surface until its all powder. The less chuncks you have the less chance you have of lacerating your nose, or fucking up your mucous membrane.
