Parties in Cornwall

I'm originally from Plymouth and went to a few parties years ago but i have lived out of the westcountry for 5 years and have completely lost touch with things. Now i've moved back and living in Cornwall. I have done a bit of clubbing and heard of parties going on around Newquay area but get the feeling they are just full of agro pissheads on stag dos and shit.
I just want to go to some quality parties with quality music as pretty much every club near me plays the same old shit and attracts the same old wankers. Can anyone help?
