I am - since about 1997/8 or so, there are a few others who have been here for a while. its always been an international site as well so many people come and go from all across the world.... the traffic varies depending on whats happening in the world, particularly teknivals etc.
we do try and keep the site relatively "normal looking" so more people can get to it in a world where the Internet is increasingly filtered and censored either at work in the West or at ISP level in the East. Someone like you should be well aware of this...
in the pre-board days I used to download and print party reviews (which were really detailed ones a friend of mine used to write) or use a laptop and beige box phone lines in squat buildings (usually industrial buildings which were lived in during the week and partied at weekends) to show to the squatters; they thought it was brilliant on a midweek comedown to see all these reviews bigging up their work putting on parties - but sadly we can't do that any more because of the PEL laws.
I also used DC until it crashed and SJ but my last employer blocked it out and its not exactly a work safe site TBH...

i've been visiting both for about 2 years
http://www.searchforlight.org/Srijan/srijan,Vol2no4/yan%20yin%201t.jpg
been here about three years i think, got into sj for a bit, but it wore me down. too much bullshit and negativity. there may not be the constant excitement of the unexpected you get at sj, but the discussions here are generally better quality, and there is more mutual respect. people tend to think a bit more about what they post and a lot of people just read, which does my ego wonders. lol. not that i havent had some good banter on sj. ridgeway fixxy tigermoff grumble et al were always a good laugh. it was as someone said "like wading thru shit to find gold".
i spose it comes down to just feeling comfortable with a board and the way people communicate. i have met a fair few people off this board, but even the people i've never met (globalloon and biotech especially) i kind of count as freinds, sad tho that may sound. i can talk about certain shit here without fear of having the piss ripped out or it coming back to haunt me like i would on sj. i respect sj for having a real total freedom of speech, but that doesnt mean its nice. it exposes the dark underbelly of society if you ask me.
because there arent shit loads of people posting all the time, it has a certain clarity to it, and in a lot of ways i think it provides an acceptable front for freeparties. we've had journalists, farmers and politicians browse the forum and even post occasionally, i like to think we're doing our bit for the positive representation of freeparties.
and just for the record, despite all the sj heads here today, it was still only half our record visitors.(Most users ever online was 2,273, 06-04-2006 at 10:05 PM.) there are people from all over the world looking in on the british rave scene, and that i find empowering.
as has been said before, pv and sj are the yin and yang of freeparties, and i love em both.

can anyone remember the thread when a non-party head (poss gamekeeper) who had been pissed off by a particular party came on here to have a go and after a day or two actually went away saying "thank you for taking the time to listen and offer your point of view etc"
i think he was genuine and would think (a little bit) differently about similar paties in the future
that can only be a good thing
what this one? (http://www.partyvibe.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=3576&highlight=woodsman)
(reasons for not smoking weed #47: memory regained :horay: )
or use a laptop and beige box phone lines in squat buildings

well found USE
were so close to having him on side
my personal vision was to try and get him involved in helping with a small, local legal fest
once he realised the difficulties we all face he could have really understood
but then i'm a dreamer

Me. Although saying that, you'll find me on both boards. (Totem on SJ)
I don't think I will ever stop hanging around SJ because, despite it's faults, I find it impossible to escape and there truly is some sound people on there in the minority. However I KNOW that for as long as partyvibe is here I will be involved because I value many peoples opinions on this site and I find the debate intelligent and thought provoking. Many of the threads can be read more than once and you can come out the other side with a better understanding of something or a new opinion. It also provides a lot of handy resources and information for rookie and veteran ravers alike.
At the same time you can still have a laugh provided it's not in yer face offensive. Nasty shit wont be tolerated here and personally I like that about the place.
i have met a fair few people off this board, but even the people i've never met (globalloon and biotech especially) i kind of count as freinds, sad tho that may sound.
Likewise mate.

Me I suppose. Although float back and forth, I did find partyvibe first- and it is a bit of fresh air compared to SJ. I have also met many more people from here then SJ (Inc. both USE and Biotech) and consider them all to be sound as a pound.
Its all about quality rather then quantity, I forgot that for a while.

That is a good thread.
I was just imagining what would have happened if the guy had turned up on SJ and moaned about a party.
He would have had a mouthful of abuse and his preconceptions would have been confirmed.
This site is not really my cup of tea, but the scene definitely needs places like this where issues can be discussed sensibly and constructively.

Joined PV around the same time as DC. I tend to look over things on here occasionally but don't post often.
Use expressed the reasons I like PV very well. It's got a lot lower kiddie quota on here and it is possible to have rational discussions without the name calling when people disagree
Shut up old man :get_you:
