Last Night was an A1, tip-top, clubbing, jam fair. It was a sandwich of fun, on ecstasy bread, wrapped up in a big bag like disco fudge. It doesn't get much better than that. I just wish that I could control these *fucking mood swings!*

tbh i was just using that as a example of time. He is only 16 in a couple of years time he might actually realise what is actually fucking up the scene.

Its young and old organisers not just the older lot who have different views from some new soundsystems, but dont you think a lot of up coming sound systems follow the same beliefs and copied them as such "fuck da babylon" every time they see old bill

this is one example of what i have seen but younger people rather that older lot
ex. 16 year olds bebo account.

Too many rigs rinsing same sites = quickly pissed off locals = death of scene.

Its pretty simple.

TBH I don't think many of the larger crews are coming out any more, they have either already had their stacks taken or have decided not to take the risks.

maybe some new kids might try to be stubborn but they will just get pwned

that said a lot of the more bait bebo sites appear to be being "closed down" but I am concerned that bebo may be in fact archiving them and passing info to cops (they already have a policy of openly cooperating with OB when crime is suspected).

cops have reiterated their warnings as well (albeit this time offering to advise people on how to get licenses!)

Hall parties (which apparently had been going on OK for 20 years or more in East Anglia) are being clamped down on because some of the people doing them are giving false details, allowing damage to occur and breaking the hire/licensing conditions of the halls.

incidentally one crew actually tried going out last night and was soon busted (landowner called 999), 14 arrests and most for licensing/drug posession and supply.

Even what appears to be an attempt at a smaller private shindig in Suffolk was stopped.

but people are actually relaying these articles on their myspace and bebo so its not a case that they are not being read

seems some crews just don't (or refuse to) realise that they will run out of stacks, money and people willing to support the raves long before the cops ever run out of cash..

but the worst part of it is no-ones going to win if it carries on..

Cops could easily bust most of the key players, even send them down (and then be faced with a load of people who weren't real villains/sociopaths when they went inside but are now)

Going inside or even minor criminal records often makes you unemployable (at least in the case of less resourceful younger people or those without good family connections), something like being done for licensing will be viewed as a crime of dishonesty against the public purse, and drug dealing isn't the best career move in conventional society...

I can understand why the backlash happened, I've seen both a good and a darkside to "fluffy" Norfolk raves and i've barely been here two years, looking at the history of things this area got rinsed from 2003 onwards (including Suffolk/Essex) so even by the time I got here in '06 it was already fairly on top (Suffolk and Essex went zero tolerance from 2005 onwards)

But when society sees "justice done" it could end up with the fluffier bits of rave culture being replaced even more quickly by a combination of binge drinking and worse class A drug use (heroin/crack)...

well... i have to say im shocked and appauled to hear that people are stupid enough to continually go out after 3-4 weeks of this zero tolerance thing.

talk about soiling the allready tarnished name of norfolk parties...

the fuck the babylon attitude that a lot of people seem to have is stupid... if your a cunt to them there not gonna stick the kettle on in the back of there riot vans and bring out the tea cakes...
the more and more these stupid cunts go out everyweekend trying to get away with it the more and more efforts the police will put into stopping them...saying they will run out of money and eventually have to let people get away with it again is moronic...

snotty little 16 year old ketamine dealers VS tax payers money.....

i know who will be out of pocket first!

in the past at our parties the police didnt even show up or when they did one of us would go and have a word and speak to them in a civil manner (like one human being does to another) we never had any trouble... told them when we were intending to pack up and leave and stuck to it...we even had one copper pull up said " some old bag over there complained so i had to show up, nice to see you have bins placed around, have a good day" + leave... things will never go back this way after the way some people have treated the county... i beleive the word for it is Rinsed...

since the events of essex/GY we have decided that the people who attend parties arent the sort of people we trust with the fate of our soundsystem.... and since then its been getting worse and worse...
partys should be about a love of music...and enjoying it in nice locations.....
far to many people these days seem to use them as midnight drug shops and have absolutely no respect for the locations...or themselves.....
dropping litter out of car windows for example.... if theres no bin your fucking car is the next best thing... and people who eat 36 pillz because its bare cool mate start fitting on the floor....getting ambulances called... and then go out and do the same fucking thing the next week...(not saying this never happend in the old days)...alll you ever hear these days is how litters been left, people ragging there cars round fields.... fuck i could go on but im boring myself....

has the definition of respect changed in the dictionary of late?

you make very good points that i completely agree with, just to add why the rest of us are pissed off so much...

a lot of the events that are fukin bait and turn to violence are citied on national news, so it has a knock-on effect for the whole country...

so not only are norfolk digging themselves into a whole, they are fucking things up for the rest of us!!! even though we seem to be capable of takin very simple measures to avoid hostility!

to be honest norfolk is a pretty frustratin story in its own, but when it has a butterfly effect on the whole country... people aint too happy to say the least.

the worst part of it is both amental and myself know people round this way who are part of decent crews, but like any minority group ravers are judged by their lowest common denominator

unfortunately the problems actually do go beyond Norfolk..

I saw exactly the same stupidity a few years ago in South East England

And there has also been a lot of recent anti-rave publicity in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, in Wales (particularly following Wentwood), and a recent party in Reading made the news as the building it was held in got smashed up.

If you read the Eastern news sites the cops also mention that a lot of the cars attending gatherings in EA are from outside the region. (they do follow through the number plates gathering).

Of course as radio scanners don't work any more "our side" can't get more details of the range of those attending, but I would suspect many are actually from SE England, particularly mid Oxfordshire, some are from the East Midlands and a large bulk are from the "no mans land" of Herts, Bucks and Beds which is "neither SE England nor East Anglia".

Have a proper read of what that MP Christopher Fraser has been saying, then look at the other MP's who are supporting it. An MP can't get parliament debtting time for a Bill on his own, he has to get others to support what he wants done. Many of the MPs supporting the Bill are from nowhere near Norfolk, there are even Welsh Labour MPs who would normally be completely opposed politically.

The harsh fact is that the whole of the South is being locked down from a load of differerent areas, as the locals everywhere have finally had enough after 20 years of unlicensed raves.

2003 was still the best year of my life tho............. it'll never be the same again.

i always used to here stories of these amazing raves and partys around norfolk, but this thread gives me the impression thier not so good? im originally from the north norfolk country side, but never went to any. people are saying they use the same places over and over again? theres plenty of locations you could go, probably much better then thetford forest. I woke up one morning being able to hear a party in the distance, between kings lynn and fakenham if anyone knows the area. drove up there late morning to find it still going with just a couple of police cars parked near by observing.

now in newcastle don't really hear anything about partys up here, do they happen that often/they any good?
