Great little collection!

Some I'd seen, some I hadn't, some I didn't even realise had videos!

The far out vid is comical. I always wanted a sub bass jacket though.

sort of bittersweet memories seeing that list - they were and still are brilliant tunes and videos

but it just shows how things have changed.

Of course there the risk of cheese and commercialisation but seeing this I get the impression that rave culture was more accepted back then as it was actually being given airtime by the mainstream media...

and the fact the artistrs had the budget to have videos made showed that there was more investment into the rave scene....

the content of the videos was overwhelmingly positive (if sometimes a bit formulaic) - but nowadays it seems that you rarely see a good dance music tune have a video shown - the only scene that gets airtime is all the UKG and gangsta rap style crap...

The last D&B video I saw was ronnie size's "no more" and TBH it looked like Crimewatch (or even Avon and Somerset cops reality crime streaming feeds) with a better soundtrack!

its sort of like a "lost innocence" seeing these...

IMO these tracks and videos should be released on a decent quality DVD remaster....

Do any breaks/hardcore/hardcore breaks tracks nowadays have videos?

Only breaks track I know of with a video is malaga airport by Sonz of mecca.

Quite a good vid actually. Used to be available for download but don't know if you can still get it.

Let me have a look....

Here we go: http://www.mechanoise.com/malaga.zip

LOL 99% of that video is shot with in a 5 mile radius of their record shop in Romford :)

(although would still have cost a bit to hire an edit suite back in 1991 and edit to music, you had to do this manually with tape or even film as no NLE suites back then!, nowadays you can do this in seconds with a bog standard windows PC, but it was a proper mission until the late 1990s)

you couldn't get away with filming those sequences on Romford high street now though; the cops wouldn't allow it without pre-booking (as you'd have to hold up the traffic for safety) and it would probably be essential to have them there anyway to stop the rudes trying to jack your crews camera kit instead of all those kids dancing along...

one thought though - many of the people uploading and commenting are from outside Britain

IMO at one point UK dance music was surely a bigger movement than Britpop - even often managing to break through to the charts without compromising too much musical integrity...

but it was essentially vilified and pushed back into the gutter by the anti-fun movement....

Yeah, I clocked that it was Boogie Times. Funny but a good a video none the less, and yeah, I'd agree that things seem a lot less pressured and more free/spontaneous back then.

Thanks for the memories. Voodoo Ray-Guy Called Gerald, still stands the test of time. I watch the vid every morning when I wake up.
