lets not forget there still are good people in society, who are looking after their families and trying to do good for themsleves and others. unfortunaltey we dont hear about them as they dont tend to make the news / statistic reports .....
unfortunately just a few bad people can and have wiped out decades of good - the events of 2009-09-11 and 2005-07-07 (which looking at the bigger picture have ultimately been caused by the excessive greed for oil and consumerism) brought it all to a head and I'm sure theres more to come...

I feel I am back in the 1980s again as far as gender/race relations are and it isn't a good thing at all. I am also seeing otherwise good decent people including many people I know get sucked into dysfunctional and even violent behaviour as they can't cope with the pressures of life. These are things I saw at first hand shortly before leaving Reading and then after moving to Ipswich.

The only "progress" is that life in Britain remains relatively safe, and compared to the 70s/80s the threat of atomic destruction of Europe has mostly evaporated as has the threat of airborne attack (compared to World War II), but war continues by proxy (which comes back to issues with street and domestic violence as much of this is committed by young soldiers returned home with mental health issues).

The harsh facts I am seeing across many regions is that the good people are increasingly to a extent being dragged down by the scum - until the Police, NHS and Government start doing something about it. In some cases it shocks people to their senses to try and behave better as a community, but too many end up creating situations where it seems only the public sector authorities can pick up the pieces...

the use of acid as a weapon is very common amongst IC3 communities (although it was an old British crime common in the the Victorian eras) and has even occured in Bristol in the early 2000s..

I'm aware of a recent case of it happening as part of gang culture in this area wouldn't class the numbers as a "lot" compared to shootings or stabbings in the same area. its not the most portable or weapons and presents much more danger to its user (splashbacks, broken containers) than a gun or knife, so tends to be used as a targeted attack.

In Hong Kong there have been several very nasty incidents where bottles of acid have been randomly thrown from the top of tower blocks..

I haven't read all the thread yet as my time in the library is running out....not my life or anything, the time on the computer.

I did watch this and i was fairly shocked to see the actual CCTV footage and her running into the cafe. I can only imagine the pain and the look of what her face was going through at this point. I bet those cafe people got the shock of their lifes.
All because of a dickhead ex, now that made me sick. Noone should ever go as far as he did.

I didn't watch all the way to the end so i never found out if she actually got justice, i hope so and i hope her scars heal to an extent that she feels happy with.

Yes, the two attackers were given fairly long prison sentences (although a whole life tarriff would have been more appropriate for both).

A lot of credit is due to the the Council CCTV operators, the Metropolitan Police Service, and the Crown Prosecution Service and Courts as well as HM Prison Service...

People think these organisations are all "babylon" but without them more scum would get clean away with everything..

Kudos to all the evidence that helped put these two scumbags in jail.
I'm happy to hear they didn't walk free.
Thanks General!

its a shame though that the people in the "glamourous" music/fashion/media/sports circles who are supposedly meant to be "happier" are in fact so dysfunctional that even they need the feds and government and NHS to pick up the pieces...

BTW this incident from todays news explains what I mean about having to keep prisons safe. These two lads were scrawny little shits what needed weapons to fight and still caused a lot of trouble, so just imagine how many problems someone skilled with fighting with bare hands as well a a manipulative bully can cause..

I actually watched this last night.

What a courageous young woman she is and still very pretty regardless of what has happened to her.
