UK : East : "Police in helicopter"....
had a look (and a listen) to this (the helicopter footage of last weekends(?) Police operation that has been released to the press)
http://new.edp24.co.uk/content/news/...A45%3A06%3A680 (in case Archant decide to make this link "disappear" it contains about 8 mins of infra-red camera footage from Oscar India 99, the Norfolk Constabulary helicopter) the version I watched last night it also contains a fair bit of the radio commentary, I was suprised at how much of this was left in (I think some bits have been edited out, possibly personal details of PNC checks because of data protection) then again I suppose they don't have to worry about people listening in with scanners any more (ahem  )--- Taai is mijn leven als een kat.

the tactics used are exactly the same as how the ridgeway moots in SE England would get closed down every so often, and some of the callsigns used (Bronze, Silver) show that the rave is being considered as major incident (same as terrorism etc)
Airwave is (unfortunately for ravers) very effective as a voice comms system (despite the rubbishing it got in the IT press), their old analogue radios used to be plagued by interference and pick up foreign TV soundtracks and I've known cops to abandon closing down a party simply due to comms problems.. so what exactly happened? was there a convoy going to the party and the police followed them? or was there a party line with directions and the OB just happen to find where it was?

if you are still in college maybe they block or ration access to streaming media (youtube etc) as it canes a lot of bandwidth..
