Harsh Practical Joke

Quote:
Those guys up there? Not happy. Not even a little. And with good reason! Bambang (left) and Nanang (right), two native Indonesians who were looking for government jobs, received word from a local village chief that there was a new requirement to work as an intelligence officer in Jakarta: facial tattoos. The only problem, of course, is that the chief — who received his information via text message — had been lied to, and he passed along some dreadfully poor instructions:

Even worse they are proper shit tattoos as well...

"The three men believe the anonymous trickster was a kind of “mystic”, as they didn’t feel in control of their actions when following his strange instructions."

Bwahahaha, how feeble; even if they do believe in mystics because of their culture.

I know SE Asia's culture and politics well (my extended family are from Malaysia which is next door to Indonesia) and TBH don't feel in the slightest bit sorry for them..

Putting aside the beliefs in mystics/ghosts/spirits (something which exists mostly in rural areas of these nations, the urban areas are more high tech than the UK!) these scum were applying for "jobs" what would have involved spying on their own people and reporting back to the Indonesian security forces

this could easily result in the village being stormed by cops/soldiers on "suspicion" of drug dealing/smuggling etc

when this happens it isn't like the politically correct West where people are put on bail and the worst what may happen is they got evicted or ASBOs

when the village is stormed the menfolk (other than the spy/grass) are separated and executed - if they are lucky they are just shot, if not they are tortured - the women are used for the sex industry/forced breeeding (i.e rape) the children are sold to rich families and the money taken by the govt/soldiers

then the houses are bulldozed or lit on fire and the area cleared for logging or palm oil plantations (the govt/soldiers/cops families get the building jobs etc) this happens all across SE Asia and is rarely reported other than by activist groups and is covered up by the West as its how we get our cheap furniture and "green" biodiesel

This wasn't a joke, it was a way of weeding out grasses / untrustworthy scum, and to deter people from taking these "jobs"

Now you made me feel bad about feeling sorry for them

They got what they deserved then

TBH any decent person what read the whole article (irrespective of their ethnic origin) would have lost sympathy the moment they saw the words "government jobs" and "intelligence officers" and that they were clearly prepared to go "undercover" to sell out their fellow villagers...

Thats scummy behaviour whether you are in Jakarta or Benfleet..

mate I've got relatives from that side of the world and some aspects of the way things are run there are not good at all.. in these sorts of countries (and TBH in the developed world too) people don't join the secret intelligence service to the point to "help people", other than their own families and friends and to get a sense of power over others...

In Asian culture tattoos represent a "hard man" or a "warrior". Having any sort of tattoo identifies you as a "face" or somewhat what wants respect or power, or at the very least a rebel.

In Indonesia, to get a tattoo and plan to work for the government is viewed as total betrayal..

that country isn't run like here. the worst TSG cops of England are fluffy bunnies compared to how people in power run things in Indonesia and other SE Asian countries.

http://insideindonesia.org/content/view/1102/47/

And what sort of nation/community is it that needs covert "intelligence officers" in a village anyway? what is the government so frightened of, that could not be dealt with by normal civillian police officers or accountable local government officers, like in any other civilised country?

Learn about stuff like East Timor, General Suharto etc and the work of the palm oil companies/logging clearances and you will see why these two men aren't good people.
