UK : Midlands : Plans to build park bench for pie-eaters

And why not? These pies are a positive symbol of Britain[1], decent quality and not the "cat food" quality meat put into other lesser varieties.

Pork pie 'tribute' seat proposed
Youngsters have suggested a "pork pie seat" be built in Melton Mowbray as a tribute to the town's delicacy. An initial design has been drawn up for Melton Borough Council and will be considered by officials.
The idea was put forward by youngsters attending a local youth democracy event in the town.
It is unclear how much the pie seat project will cost but initial research by the council suggests it could cost between £22,000 and £100,000.
Pie fight
Local business owners have been asked for their opinions on the bench, and council officials said that so far they have supported the idea.
The meat pie is a popular snack and has been produced in the area for hundreds of years.
A battle over special protected status for the Melton pork pie is continuing in the courts.
The Melton Mowbray Pork Pie Association wants a zone of 1,800 sq miles (2,880 sq km) to be created around the town, beyond which pies branded "Melton Mowbray" cannot be made.
