yeah, ive actually been at a party in which the building tennant went bust because it wasnt an abandoned building and everyone destroyed all his stock. The guilt!!! That one didnt even look occupied.. people who put these parties on need to make sure buildings are definitaly abandoned. Recycling unwanted space is one of the main concepts of squat parties to me. Walking into a building with the fresh smell of paint and watching people draw all over the walls and kick in the doors is just depressing.

Anyway the smaller the better I find with parties

its worth the more sensible London organisers reading about the history of this lot...

Metropolitan Police Clubs & Vice Unit - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Seriantia que quondam fuit Rollandi le Pettour in Hemingeston in comitatu Suff’, pro qua debuit facere die Natali Domini singulis annis coram domino rege unum saltum et sifflettum et unum bumbulum.

I'm really glad you blew the whistle on this as it pisses me off that London / SE England ravers publically berate those in East Anglia for this when I'm sure it also happens in these regions.

I've been campaigning against casual vandalism of venues since 2001 but too many people dont' care, even legal venues get trashed these days

yeah it blatently happens in london. Depends on the system I suppose.. for the most part it's an old skummy building but skumtech for sure have done occupied buildings a few times. I mentioned it to various people at strictly skum dancing and people just didnt care it was a new building, there was the 'fuckit the insurance will pay for it, where else are we supposed to go?' attitude

I've seen an insurance company try to launch a civil case against a rave organiser for damage, and they have tried stalking this dude across SE England and London...

its precisely this attitude what got Suffolk and Essex locked down. Both the constabularies in these counties cross-train with Metpol for a variety of reasons, particularly dealing with the drugs trade and public order issues, and the Home Office is telling the Londoners to "learn good practice from the bumpkins"...

I really enjoyed this party. didnt mind the queue as it meant proper weapons searches on the door. plenty of music to choose from, pretty much something for everyone. Loads of space decent warehouse and good atmosphere. Well worth a £10 imo

Sorry guys, trouble is cant control what people do when they there. We did a lot of organising for Scumaween, mainly around safety, including a fully trained first aider.

basically what hes saying is, squatting is one thing, but destroying a building is another.

people fucking complain about the authorities but then go destroy shit?

what the fuck is wrong with them, they just give those bureaucrats fucking ammo

until 2006 a lot of bureaucrats didn't give a flying fuck about illegal raves. I know as I was a Civil Servant for 4 years whilst helping organise such events in SE England at the same time and no one at work was at all concerned - theres stuff going on like war, community breakdowns, environental damage and financial crisis which is much more important.

but now with the recession and environmental matters being more prominent, if any people go around fuckign up the local area and destroying other folks property/business its hardly surprising that authorities are expected to react!
