By Supporting the Festival this year you will be supporting violence, ignorance and mindless hatred.

We have now reached the stage here where the mindless, childish, ignorant hypocrites who have encouraged the "come all rape and pillage attitude" of the Dragon festival have now reaped the whirlwind. As a result of the escalating madness each year the authorities who own the river bed site have acted, digging holes for thousands of trees, thus making it rather hard to park/camp/party. As these idiots can't really hurt the authorities (apart from vandelising the digger) they have turned on the residents of Ciggarones who in their ignorance they blame for the tree planting (as if the Spanish authorities take any notice of what we foriegners think!). They are spraying paint on cars, throwing stones, shouting abuse, and assaulting people in their cars as they drive home. All because they couldn't see beyond their pathetic "right to party and any one who disagrees is an old fart". By Supporting the Festival this year you will be supporting violence, ignorance and mindless hatred.

Unless a sensible alternative venue is found please stay away this year. The festival was always about celebration not suffering. Right now people are suffering abuse, real hateful, hurtful abuse. It must not be supported or encouraged in any way.

He estado varias veces en el festival y he disfrutado muchísimo, pero estuve hace poco en tablones y chicos, cigarrones esta impracticable.

No hay sitio donde acampar, todo lleno de tierra removida y agujeros. Le preguntamos a un abuelete de la zona y nos dijo que iban a plantar arboles los de la Junta.

Si no hay sitio para estar, creo que se debia plantear el cambiar la ubicación. Yo asi no voy, si voy es para pasar un fin de semana alucinante y además estar comodo, no para pasarlo mal.

Ok my last (maybe!) post cos I am now finding all this so boring but whoever the moron who put up the last post saying we all want the dragon so we can sell drugs and not work all year can stick it up his or her arse those who believe and love the dragon all work really hard and are definatly out of pocket by the end of march making sure it all goes smoothly please don,t be put off by all this crap come spade one hand tree in the other plant and party for the next generation.

Do people not see what they alraedy have is a free festival if you are living there...do the people living their pay rent,taxes etc no!! they dont the food is free and all around you...people need to start using their senses and realise that there is so much more to life than a hyped gathering... with a calling to the 12:60 calendar rather than the 13:20 absurd synchronicites... when something is planned it will be infiltrated and capitalised on by who ever !!this is true..if something happens organically then it is beautifull.By now the place should be a working festival and so much more by now...if you have been living on the riverbed for ten years plus what have you done to make it essentuate the beauty that you see...what drives you!!??

what have you put back in to the earth... how do you celebrate the land that feeds you!!??

What is fuelling the Dragon fiesta movement??

How can it evolve away from the hype and taken back to the underground where this place really belongs?

Who is actually the organisers behind this event??is there a solid team family of individuals that take full responsibility to hold a strong sense of identity to their event!!??

Who ever it is, together ,as a family, with your local fellow fiesta friends and family who live in cigarronnes and tablones,orgiva,the mountain peeps come together and organise a real sustainable positive vibe....some of the comments left on this forum considering this is a party sound well rude and not what celebrating the renewal of spring rites is about or is it ??...the likes of our elders who have passed by there like Robert Graves, the likes of Salvador Dali ,Venossa to name but a few came to this beautiful place for inspiration...this beautiful acoustic ,a perfect place for a party,but a party like no other.RAW SPIRIT FESTIVAL & BURNING MAN ARE GOOD EXAMPLES COMBINED HAS THE DRAGON FIESTA 3000..one that sets it self apart from all others...at the moment it is stillFREE!! keep it that way by going into meditation POSITIVE EDUCATION!!..for the valley...at the moment the momentum is gearing to a no win situation,who wants another beanfield scenario!!??....there are children down there,mothers,it is true that people come there like a swarm of flies on shit and then go...it would be cool if the place was becoming more about the center of learning...music and circus revered schools,primal mother camps,techno improvisation,diy dance disco elixirs,real cool funky chinoiseries,hoink over the pan pipes of joujouka,lead the way but not this way all fighting with your neighbours,attracting angst from the EU!!

shit there are musicians talented that exclude themselves from the evnets,peeps that do havechildren and many animals that they care for,who picks up the pieces when everyone has gone back to their regular lives.!!??..the people living there wether on the riverbed or in the little up and coming hamlets eco villages are trying to work this out surely everyone can communicate??can we not>>.look at the world,palestine!!

The riverbed is a clear example of what our bodies ,spirit dont need anymore..if you care about the environment then you can have a dragon fiesta with guitars and voice...a couple of solar wind power rigs and clean fuel burning the festival that has becoming so hyped...then lets see this movement in all its walk of it's talk...or are the people fuelling the party just up for punting crap products to make a selfish buck for themselves...!!??even down to the recycling where is the art in that keep it all in house...set up your own corporations,merchants of the new economy!!like a transition european town!!

Think as quite a lot of uk systems go over they want to use a uk website so people can express their opinions on the whether it should go ahead or not. I dont know the history or anything really and ive not been, but it seems that a load of travellers that have settled in the area and have no got to comfortable have now joined the 'not in my back garden' brigade and now dont want anyone coming over anymore, seems like theres a lot of spanish people (or people that speak spanish anyway) that are actualy for the dragon going ahead. Wish i could go looks like a mint festival, got not passport tho... Its blatently going to happen, just hope it doesnt kick off and is peacfull.

he estado este puente en la Alpujarra y me he he dado una vuelta por cigarrones. La verdad es que está hecho todo una mierda, perdonad la expresión. "Aquí no hay quien viva" ni en Dragon 2009 ni en el 2010.

A ver si nos vamos informando un poco. Se va hacer o no. Según contais unos y otros y por las fotos me parece que este año lo tenomos un poco dicifil en la Alpujarra. De todas formas yo ire donde se realice, la verdad es que me da igual el lugar, sea en Orgiva o en otra parte. Lo que no entiendo es como todavia no hay nada claro. Si se va realizar en Orgiva (y así lo creeis los que estaís cerca de los Cigarrones),decirlo para organizar el viaje si es en otro sitio tambien para saber a donde tirar.

De todad meneras, si la autoridades han actuado, aunque sea poco, seria conveniente ir pensando en moverse a otro lugar, tarde o temprano contaran con la medidas oportunas para retirarlo. No es que sea un agua-fiestas y ojala que me equivoque, pero me huele al "Principio del Fin".

A ver como la organizacion lo plantea este año, por que segun decis, con palas y tierra no se consigue gran cosa, según las fotos es como si intentamos vaciar el mediterraneo a vasos de agua.

Como ya he dicho me da igaual el sitio. Nos veremos en el dragon sea en las Alpujarras o en cualquier otro sitio.

Warning ,if you turn up ,please be aware that the site has been dug up by the local council,to large diggers spent one week trashing the riverbed!the result is that there is no parking,it is not possible to enter site in a truck or car,the nearest possible parking will mean a 3km walk,if vehicles do drive in it may put peoples lives at risk,there is talk of another site at santa fe Granada,if you turn up at ciggarones bring bin bags and a tree to plant!you'll see why when you get here,future forest festival,here we go!

lots love to all were gonna have loads cool happenings here but its camping ONLY.
