An OB car went to check out the rave with only 1 pig in, blocked off the track but manage to run out of battery, after a while got scared on his own an left the car (locked), people started by sitting on & kicking the car, after a while it was being battered, ripped to shit, windows smashed, everything nicked from out of it, peeps talkin to cozzas ovr the radio, what you would love 2 do to a police car

but thats the problem with peeps on drugs, the consequences are never thought of, the fact that theres a cctv camera sitting staring out the front and back windows videoing everyone smashing the car up,

partys still going tho, aparently

y he didn't ask some ravers to jump start him or call for backup i don't know, just goes to show there as scared of us as we are of them

' A decent one' - They do exsist - I have met a few -

unfortunatley as with any job which comes with a 'position of power' it attracts a certain type of person who uses it for their own purposes
(Like prison warden etc)

cctv i think would only make it worse, they dont want to set aside the bad'uns and let us party goers carry on ... if they vandalise ... it looks like we all do ... a real shocker this was to hear.

a copper might get pushed over in a scuffle or something but the imaginary 'line' is never really crossed (in our minds anyway) remember the laws line is much different to ours although our personal morals on both sides may be the same ...

not really the first time this has happend tho, was it in wales a few years ago that a police car got rolled down a hill after the plods left if on a steep slope while they wen't to look round the party

peeps notice an empty police car on a steep slope, set it off, ended up rolling 6/7 times down the hill and ending up at the bottom of the hill

(may not have been wale, can't remember really only eva been told about it)

Well that's just great isn't it.

Not that I should really give a shit because my enthusiasm for parties has died over the last years for reasons such as this.

A lot of the older rigs don't even bother any more because of the way some people behave.

I used to stick up for parties to anyone that would have a bad word to say about them. I'd feel confident that I was right and I'd be able to win a fair few people round or at least make them see the other side. These days I keep my mouth shut because I simply cannot defend them anymore. I'd rather people didn't tar me with the same brush.

To be fair it's only a small proportion of the party people that do this kind of thing, but nothing is being done about it. It's almost just accepted these days.

yup, ive only been involved in the party scene (due to my age) since my early teens, this kind of thing never used to the parties i went to and when older help organise ... keep your partys private ... thats what we did, close circle of friends, good vibes and a good location mean cutting down on this problem if not getting rid of it ...

on SJ there is some discussion over cameras in cars, SJ as per is full of foul language and blokes admitting to being involved in it so wondered if anyone on here had a better insight into the cop car cctv.

would a robber ask a cop for a jumpstart?, the backup i have no idea, being a sat night, sretched forces mean less and less cars available possibly ...

Its just such a shame - what ever happened to

Peace
Love
Unity
Respect?

Or am I just an old hippie romantacising the good ' old ' days? I dont know, I'm sure it was happening when I was in full party flow - but I'm sure not to the current extent of nastyness / mindless / violence / vandalism

It just gives even more of an argument that the coppers / media / etc can use against the already damaged scene

Is a shame, when stuff like this happens just gives the o.b more reasons to turn up to parties in riot gear and bust them!

its a shame specially for people my age... what are they gonna experience at their first free party? probably not the great atmosphere of an early 90's party.

having said that i have hope for the future... i have faith in my upcoming generation and reckon we won't be as reckless and pathetic... there is a big backlash against the "chav" culture of destruction, some backlash is good (thinking of real solutions, bringing back a more PLUR approach) but some is bad (clampdown, support on less civil rights etc.)

still, better to be optimistic than pessimistic!

i don't think you can decide what the scene is like from a single incident. i've been going to parties for years and have never seen much trouble, always felt safe, never had that much problem with OB.

you go into every town centre on a fri or sat night and you will see stuff kicking off pretty much every time, but obviously not everyone who goes there is like that.

however, i wouldn't want to be putting parties on around east anglia just now...
