But I get head rushes nearly every time i stand now. My heart still goes funny and it fucked with my head a bit.

Plus on comedown, too often i would halucinate people walking around all the time. not objects usually people. Ghosts and thigns. vision, speaking and touch. terrifying

My heart would beat and id be breathless if i moved at any speed. I'd almost develope tourettes for a day because i couldnt controll what i was saying, and just general horrible-ness :(

Hence why im PROPER happy if there is no comdown.
What have you got this from taking methadrone?

Last Night was an A1, tip-top, clubbing, jam fair. It was a sandwich of fun, on ecstasy bread, wrapped up in a big bag like disco fudge. It doesn't get much better than that. I just wish that I could control these *fucking mood swings!*

Glittersniffer mentioned base amfetamine causing these symptoms. I have had some of them (hallucinations/paranoia etc) on binges of base amfetamine but not the "beaty heart", and this despite carrying out intense physical activity whilst under the influence (it was not uncommon for me to go on bike rides from Reading to places like Basingstoke or even West London)

There is a medical term for the heart conditions - arrhythmia and some forms can be serious/fatal. I would suggest Glittersniffer actually gets her general health checked out and is careful about her further use of stimulants - if she uses them at all.

I say this because I lost a young lady of glittersniffers age (in the 1990s) I was quite close to due to use of MDMA - she had a undiagnosed heart condition, and the extremely good quality 1990s pills just pushed her "over the edge" one weekend...

some users of mephedrone have claimed they have had "racing hearts" etc during or after using the substance....

The reason many people can never get to the original MDMA buzz IMO is not because they've seriously damaged serotonin levels but because your inibitions can be so reduced that your brain readjusts to what is a "unnatural level of happiness!" Certain "negative emotions" like "paranoia" or "depression", when kept under control are a good survival mechanism. Other humans or groups of them can be hostile and being a bit wary of new people is a sensible thing...

I remember from the early 1990s raves there were a lot of scum what would prey on the more loved up blissed out ravers, trying to rob them or worse (particularly in the case of girls). Those what survived this side of the 1990s rave scene obviously had to put their guard up a bit more.

Set and setting has a lot to do with it.

Todays social environments are definitely not as friendly as those of the late 1980s or 1990s, due to people being more insecure and angry - the days of people bumbling around parties chatting to total strangers are less prevalent and people tend to stick within their social groups (something I feel is a big shame)

so if you take "party drugs" sometimes your brain adjusts and holds back some of the "loved up" feeling to keep you safe, although the sensation is often still enjoyable. This is what I have found anyway and I don't see it as too much of a problem in wider life..

also its not clear whether mephedrone acts as much on serotonin as other receptors in the brain. What I have found to be true is there is virtually zero comedown on it compared to amfet/MDMA or other similar substances.
i am definatly alot more depressed now days then i was back then .. alltho alot of things have happened i can pin it down to way way overdoing it back then as my best mate who did about the same as me suffers the same problems ... there are many factors to it tbf .. but i am sure that for me .. i did too many pills (some where very very strong others were not .. but i did loads either way) and even tho if i leave it for ages not taking them .. i'll start to feel a bit better ... it goes back to depression when i cain mdma again

Sorry to hear that mate.

So if someone has a 'racing heart' after doing Mephedrone, do you think it wise for them to be checked out?

if its genuinely making them uncomfortable and feeling ill and persists for some time after taking it then yes.

if people have a racing heart and serious chest pains after doing anything even when stone cold sober they should call NHS Direct and/or if necessary attend hospital by Emergency Ambulance - even fit young people can suffer sudden heart problems.

I do see the dilemma here - doctors aren't stupid and many will suspect substance abuse in a young person who presents to a GP with these problems on Monday after an obvious "heavy weekend". Doctors are not cops and mephedrone is not illegal so its best to be honest - but many may well notify NTA (National Treatment Agency) of the use of the substance.

Each notification will slowly filter upwards through the NHS and even the EU and bring mephedrone closer to being classified as a dangerous substance, if only because it is costing the NHS money to treat people/give them advice. This is what has already happened in the Scandinavian countries which have very good public health care systems just like ours.

OTOH I don't want anyone to suffer serious health problems from their drugs - we need to learn lessons from the 1990s..

although I wouldn't class it as depression, 1990s strength pills gave me such mood/emotional swings I would not take them again (certainly not in any quantity) if they were still available and even legal. the same with dexamfetamine, which I used a lot in the early 2000s. I now find that the negative effects the mood swings have on my work and interaction with people are unacceptable for someone of my age (compared to a teenager or youth still going through emotional development).

This might be more to do with the fact I am older and have finally sorted out a lot of my life.

I have however knocked on the head a lot of hopes/dreams/aspirations/ambitions I had in my youth (such as working in the creative industries/media etc) - and accepted the fact that I am probably going to end up as in a IT management position in an office and stay in East Anglia until my middle years or even old age - some people may understandably class this as a defeatist/depressed attitude as I'm no longer "chasing my dreams" but I've found that facing up to these facts has made me a far happier man than even my heaviest drug using days!

Curiously, crystal MDMA did not have such a bad effect on me as pills but there was still a noticeable comedown/tiredness and the most recent stuff was just filthy. With mephedrone, other than more elevated body temperature (although no worse than ketamine?) I have not had any negative emotional effects, other than those which tiredness may cause on occasion.

where i drink alot it's allways hard to tell where the depression comes from but where my mate doesn't drink and has had some of the same problems .. we could definatly put it down to the pills we used to do (from 1999 till now i have been doing pills/mdma) i know what your saing with the mdma tho .. i remeber pills used to really give bad comedowns when i first started doing them .. i put that down to them being mdma/speed mixed tho ...

meph does seem to have less of a comedown as i did a few g over the weekend and felt no worce than after a g of mdma and i didn't sleep for 3 days and drank quite a bit ... but tbf it's hadr to tell after that much abuse ... when i tryed it for the first time on the thursday last week i did .75 of a g and woke up the next day feeling nothing more than a bit tired and hung over where i had not much sleep and a few beers with the meow .. if your sensible with this stuff i can't see it making you fell as shitty as mdma can do

yeah same, i don't get alot of jokes out of it either as with psychedelics.

the amount of classic acid/ketamine quotes which never die, can't think of any e ones....... except the cringe worthy e-tarded quotes for example:

we were in some tents and alot of people were on pills, ma friend on pills asks ma other friend if he can have a sip of his water. his responce 'whatevers mine is yours and whatevers yours is mine' CRINGEEEEEE he has to repeat it twice cos his gurn was so strong and his eyes were rolling back. seeing people like that makes me not wanna be on that stuff, infact i think that's one of the reasons i stopped

gave my meph a going over with a mortar and pestle. Much quicker onset of euphoria, though it stings the nostrils a bit.
