| Drugs Our drugs forum is a place for frank, honest and open discussion of all topics relating to drug use and misuse. Drugs are a sensitive subject about which opinions vary so bear it in mind. Also you should avoid incriminating yourselves legally here since drugs laws are always taken seriously. And finally although drug treatment professionals frequent this forum regularly the advise you receive here is only ever casual... |

Glittersniffer mentioned base amfetamine causing these symptoms. I have had some of them (hallucinations/paranoia etc) on binges of base amfetamine but not the "beaty heart", and this despite carrying out intense physical activity whilst under the influence (it was not uncommon for me to go on bike rides from Reading to places like Basingstoke or even West London)
There is a medical term for the heart conditions - arrhythmia and some forms can be serious/fatal. I would suggest Glittersniffer actually gets her general health checked out and is careful about her further use of stimulants - if she uses them at all. I say this because I lost a young lady of glittersniffers age (in the 1990s) I was quite close to due to use of MDMA - she had a undiagnosed heart condition, and the extremely good quality 1990s pills just pushed her "over the edge" one weekend... Cardiac arrhythmia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia some users of mephedrone have claimed they have had "racing hearts" etc during or after using the substance.... --- Seriantia que quondam fuit Rollandi le Pettour in Hemingeston in comitatu Suff’, pro qua debuit facere die Natali Domini singulis annis coram domino rege unum saltum et sifflettum et unum bumbulum. 15 cans of Adnams.. ![]() Last edited by General Lighting; 04-08-2009 at 08:35 PM.. |

![]() So if someone has a 'racing heart' after doing Mephedrone, do you think it wise for them to be checked out? |

if people have a racing heart and serious chest pains after doing anything even when stone cold sober they should call NHS Direct and/or if necessary attend hospital by Emergency Ambulance - even fit young people can suffer sudden heart problems. I do see the dilemma here - doctors aren't stupid and many will suspect substance abuse in a young person who presents to a GP with these problems on Monday after an obvious "heavy weekend". Doctors are not cops and mephedrone is not illegal so its best to be honest - but many may well notify NTA (National Treatment Agency) of the use of the substance. Each notification will slowly filter upwards through the NHS and even the EU and bring mephedrone closer to being classified as a dangerous substance, if only because it is costing the NHS money to treat people/give them advice. This is what has already happened in the Scandinavian countries which have very good public health care systems just like ours. OTOH I don't want anyone to suffer serious health problems from their drugs - we need to learn lessons from the 1990s.. Last edited by General Lighting; 04-08-2009 at 09:49 PM.. |

This might be more to do with the fact I am older and have finally sorted out a lot of my life. I have however knocked on the head a lot of hopes/dreams/aspirations/ambitions I had in my youth (such as working in the creative industries/media etc) - and accepted the fact that I am probably going to end up as in a IT management position in an office and stay in East Anglia until my middle years or even old age - some people may understandably class this as a defeatist/depressed attitude as I'm no longer "chasing my dreams" but I've found that facing up to these facts has made me a far happier man than even my heaviest drug using days! Curiously, crystal MDMA did not have such a bad effect on me as pills but there was still a noticeable comedown/tiredness and the most recent stuff was just filthy. With mephedrone, other than more elevated body temperature (although no worse than ketamine?) I have not had any negative emotional effects, other than those which tiredness may cause on occasion. |

yeah same, i don't get alot of jokes out of it either as with psychedelics.
the amount of classic acid/ketamine quotes which never die, can't think of any e ones....... except the cringe worthy e-tarded quotes for example: we were in some tents and alot of people were on pills, ma friend on pills asks ma other friend if he can have a sip of his water. his responce 'whatevers mine is yours and whatevers yours is mine' CRINGEEEEEE he has to repeat it twice cos his gurn was so strong and his eyes were rolling back. seeing people like that makes me not wanna be on that stuff, infact i think that's one of the reasons i stopped |
