powder is great...i know some people that can get off on it though...one of my buddies brother is hard on it...does it almost every day...

i've done it maybe 2 dozen times, it's expensive... about usd$60/g here...a gram will do me for a night though.. my final opinion is it's fun every once and a while, especially free...but don't want it to be a habit! i have better drugs to spend my money on

Me and my partner put around 30K of coke in our arms within a period of 3-4 months. It is a waste of money but out of all drugs, I only ever crave a nice hit of powder cocaine, that's only thinking of the rush though, and looking back with rose tinted spectacles. As it goes I haven't used any chemicals for over 5 years and like it that way - it's all or nothing for me!

It's a great kick in the pants, it's a sociable little molecule, it's great when you're too drunk but then you fall off the other side of talking too much shit about...the same shit, every time. Takes your money and burns it, takes you outta the loop of friends who don't do it, and it makes you cold, 'even the nicest people' indeed. Almost always mixed with some other dodgy unidentifiable filler, it always carries a heritage of serious fuckin' gangsters and poor bastard mule / stool pigeons and yet I end up doing it fairly fuckin' often on the weekend, so what does that say about me?
It doesn't give you such a bad hangover, which is probably why I do it - you can (if you can get some sleep) pick up your day the next and go off and have a brekkie and do shit, which is more than a night on pills or md's will allow. And I suppose there's not as much chemically-induced self-loathing and depression. So it's a compromise for me, then, as i like stimulants but am enjoying the comedown of eggs less and less.
I won't lie, I like it. But I also realise that at some point it's important to find other pleasures to replace the rewards you find at the end of a rolled note, other activities that substitute for the up 'n at 'em that powder gives you. It's all about the brain's rewards system, isn't it?

Coke is definately become more prevelent with my group of friends and it took me a while to realise that its sucking the fun out of our weekends.

I'm extremely worried about a friend. They want my help but this is the one area with drugs that i'm at a loss.

I was hoping i could help here as i know very little about coke addiction and psychological dependency. If someone could direct me to good sites where i can find out more information for example what will happen if he stops cold turkey or should he need cut down gradually. Ideally i could do with advise from someone who's been through coke addiction and come out the other side

i agree with you i have been doing pills for 16 years and i have never felt ill or anything but last year everybody was doing coke so i was having a sniff here and there then i started buying it and got a bit carried away i was flat out on it for about two months and now i feel fucked i get dodgy heart beats get really tired quick . its bullshit

ye man i no pppl who've got well into coke and u can see how manic and stressy they are, how their chest is fucked and how their ALWAYS sniffing the stuff! which obviously means their always spending all their money on it too. I'll go halves on a G wit someone if i have a load of money (which is very very very rarely!) and to be fair although its nice its tooooo strangely morish considering wat effect it has! i find if i buy some coke it jus sorta keeps me straight throughout the nite without even realising, like if i'm drinking i can mix my drinks loads and wen i should be WELL pissed, afta a few lines i'll be well alrite then sober up off the coke and be pissed again and feel rank from the amount i've drunk!! (if ya get meh!)

but M.D.M.A nd pills and other arty drugs are much much better and coke is too much money and a waste of time xxxxxxxx

Did the battle with the marching powder myself many years ago, Narcotics Anonymous (NA) were a great help... The good news about Coke addiction is that it has one of the highest recovery rates amongst all the drug groups being a psychological addiction rather than both psychological and physical... Your friend may take some comfort from this.

Having said that it's certainly not easy giving up - personally I went cold turkey and was in the horrors for a few days, having been used to snorting before breakfast just to feel normal... I got over it though and now even though after 13 years I still get a pang when the mirrors are passed around, I take a deep breath and say no.

I never touch the stuff now even when my BF found a wrap of it at Glade last year, not even a free line tempts me now, because I'm afraid of myself with it. I likes it too much you see... and I don't ever, ever want to go down that road to hell again where all I could think about was my next line. Even my dreams were dominated by images of snorting...

I'm not on this board very often anymore but for further information I suggest if your friend is really serious about giving up, NA is the place to go. They certainly did it for me. It won't be easy, but I can promise it's worth it.

Your friend probably thinks he/she'll never be happy again without Coke in their lives... just remind them, how happy are they with it???!!!

a lot of my friends think it's the best drug out there..i'll buy it for a special occasion and i mean maybe twice a year,for NYE or something,but i don't really see the major magic of it.it effects me and that,but im a very sociable and confident (confident enuff innit) person anyways,so it doesn't do too much.

and for the price of it as well,why fucking bother...gimme a box of shrooms or a handful of pills any day

On its own, coke is shyte... very overrated. I only felt a tiny bit cocky on it, that was all.

I much prefer psychadelic drugs, they are fun and interesting! =]

Coke mixed with MDMA/E... I found.. made the effects last a lot longer, though.

i konw it is each to there own but i have seen to many friends turn on each other because of the dam stuff, i have found at it can give some people a very bad attitude, i hate to see my friends take it but they are old enuf and ugly enuf to make there own choices, it has a habit of turning peoples live up-side-down in a short space of time,

i went on a coke binge, i ended up in mt pants on stage in a out back bar in nottingham and i had good time but that was the last time i took coke.

I like it but I don't like it that much. Never found it addictive or fiended for it like most. Couldn't be bothered spending more than £50 on a G, more often than not would just split a G with a mate and that'd be more than enough for a night out, a lot of time I'd have some left. I really can take it or leave it, the stuff we used to get was pretty decent, the buzz was nice but I hadn't touched it for a long time till this weekend (no desire to and didn't want to spend the cash on it) but the stuff my mates had was pretty shit stuff. It instantly made your nose and teeth / mouth go numb but there was very little high. My mates were doing lines every 2 seconds but I was finding it pointless and just stopped. Even with the good stuff I always got bored after a couple hours, unlike MDMA where I'll bosh pills all night trying to chase that high.

The good thing about Coke is I get no comedown the next day(s) and can function as normal, eat, go to work etc where as after MDMA that's all a bit of a nightmare.

I've never really felt anything off coke, just maybe a little buzz like iv had a cup of coffee. I've occasionally done it when people offer me a line just out of curiosity cos I want to feel some sort of effect but I never do its weird. Even when its supposedly decent coke tht gets everyone else fucked. Duno if anyone else finds this. I see this as more of a blessing tho cos from what iv seen its not something i wanna really get into.
