Hi, I love parties, raves, clubs, and I am a big house lover as well as psy and tech.
I want to organise parties myself and I think my best way IN is to help some established "club brand" in the realisation and organisation of events in LONDON. Can any of you offer me any advice? thanks malahouse |

![]() --- "we all have problems, it's how we deal with them that defines who we are!" "People must begin to help one and other - we must begin to care!" "You're scared of mice and spiders, but oh-so-much greater is your fear that one day the two species will cross-breed to form an all-powerful race of mice-spiders who will immobilize human beings in giant webs in order to steal cheese" Messing around with all theese chemical rushes .. when natural highs come a whole lot cheeper! |

I guess that most of the professional skills required will have be learnt on the field.
Although, I did organise some small parties a few years ago in Italy, that came out quite well. What skills would you advise me to gain in order to work in organising parties, such as tech-house parties? thanks malahouse |

i dont think it would be possible to become part of a major organiser unless you know someone or had required skills such as technical expertise.
If you are organising your own, its kinda common sense. you need people with speakers. people with lights. DJs, transport, parking, licensing and relevant laws, security, staff etc. check these articles mate! full of good infos. The Guide to having a Free Party The Good Free Party Goer's Guide |

(nightowl) would be,as you say, knowing someone. Maybe I could start with some promoting job, or some basic responsibilities such as being responsible for the parking spaces, or for organising transport, or finding staff or just being a security steward (I actually possess a SIA license). I want to organise parties for a living and create my own brand. In the future, maybe have my own club or organise international one-off and regular events. I want to get some experience as part of an organisation but at the same time start creating my own thing. Anyway, thanks for the info. And if anyone got any more advice, shoot! malahouse |

get in with some people who already do it
u cant just start up a clubnight on your own and expect it to work But the theory is as such: Get a venue Get a lineup Pay for both of the above upfront Flyer the fuck out of any related event and post all over the internet Be stressed and out of pocket when the turnout is bad and the venue chucks you out early because you're not selling enough drinks It's not easy.. make sure you've done your research and promotion |
