Lately some of our members have been having trouble with Internet Explorer’s Smart Screen Filter (SSF) stopping pages on our website from loading correctly below the top of the page. Disabling SSF doesn't fix the problem but turning off Active Scripting (below) is something of a workaround although pages are no longer dynamic alternatively using another (better!) browser such as Firefox or Google Chrome works...
I've spent the last few days updating our club wear store with improved layout and navigation, lots of new clothing and some accessories. Features you may be interested in include the ability to browse product categories (men, women, kids & accessories), the inclusion of lots of new products for kids, lots of un-branded items of clothing, some new hoodies and jackets and ladies clothing...
From 12th October 2009 until Christmas Paypal are offering everyone who pays using their service the chance to win their money back which means anyone who subscribes (a.k.a a donation) to Party Vibe or buys clothing from our store has the chance of making the purchase for free...
Things to know about the draw:
1. This offer is valid from 12.10.2009 until Christmas!
2. You're automatically entered by spending with Paypal.
3. 500 people are selected at random each week.
4. The more you spend the more you might win back.

I'm pleased to say that I've now cleared the large backlog of new mixes I had waiting to be uploaded and I've added many of them to the radio stream as well as our music dowloads area...
This is a reminder to anyone who may be interested in peering or relaying our internet radio streams that you're welcome to do so...
We have two internet radio streams featuring more than 1400 mixes of electronic and contemporary music. Of our two streams the first is a high quality broadcast loop of pre-recorded mixes streaming at 192kbs, the second is for live broadcasts but defaults back to the loop when DJs aren't playing and runs at 128kbs.
A quick apology for the delay some of you might be feeling in regards to mixes you've sent in for download. I've added ~25 mixes since the weekend but I'm still working on a backlog of ~120 mixes which I'll do my best to clear inside a week...
Has our chat room ever been a problem for you? I've had reports of people on slow pcs having trouble streaming the radio and I'm considering a replacement so let me know...
There was a problem with the forum this morning which angel reported. It took me a little while to find the cause but once I had it was a quick fix. Sorry for any inconvenience...
It's time I shared some statistics on how well party vibe radio has been doing since we moved away from being hosted on Level-1 and started our own streams in January so here are some statistics notice that at one stage we had 55 listeners at one time which isn't bad considering and the show with all those listeners was by Mr Lewis and Ideosphere so fair play and thanks to them!
I've applied a number of changes today. First off the forum width is now bigger (new: 1024 old: 800) which should make large amounts of text easier to read. Then I've resized all the pictures on the site so that they're bigger. And we also have a new banner image at the top of the screen. I've upgraded to the latest version of the forum software and added a handy article management system into which I'll be moving content over the coming days...
I want to expand our Youtube video channel with as many of your clips as I can so if any of you out there have some to share please do send them in. It's all welcome...
I think it might be time to block anyone but fully registered members from posting but not browsing. What do you think? The main benefit would be less spam but it might become harder for people to take part if the can't receive our registration emails for whatever reason...
The first is the What's Going On? information on the Forum Home Page will now refresh automatically every minute without you having to reload the page.
The second is for the first few minutes after a new post is written it's thread will be known as a Live Thread and you'll see it update dynamically, again without having to reload the page, as people reply to it or edit their replies.
Finally on a side note I upgraded to us to the latest forum software release and enabled Quick Replies and Quick Edits which I think you'll find useful...
Let me know what you think and whether their are... [Read More]
I've been slowly working on an internet radio station directory for Party Vibe with SDZ from Internet Radio Servers for several months and I'm pleased to say version 0.8 is online at last. Let us know what you think...
I invested in professional radio broadcasting software today. Most notably this should mean an end to the crashes we've been suffering lately (sorry!). Anyway amongst other niceties we now have playlist handling where I can now tailor individual playlists and in theory theme days by musical genre or artist which might be interesting for some occasions...
From now on if you have regular radio shows to promote in our Radio forum please start just the one thread using the following title format ("Radio Station Name: Show Updates") and post updates there rather than starting a new thread for each show / broadcast...
In case any of you have tried to make a donation (aka subscribing) lately and received an error saying there were no subscriptions available to you. The problem is now fixed...
Next week is the website's 11th birthday which we'll be celebrating with a special line-up of radio broadcasts. I'll post more information as soon as we have a working line-up...

We've touched on this before but lately I feel it needs saying again. Abusive behaviour will not be tolerated on this web site. Freedom of speech isn't a license to attack the people we disagree with, it's respecting their right to have an opinion, allowing them to express it, disagreeing with them in a civilised manner or ignoring them if we can't; it's a right to be earned and a responsability!
Our policy:
Abusive behaviour is not allowed, respect your peers! Although we make every effort to keep our community in order the following rules are worth bearing in mind if you ever have a problem with a user's behavior:
1. Don't have anything to do with them.
2. Keep a record of what happens. ... [Read More]
I've upgraded our party pictures archive to new software which includes a pretty stunning slideshow applet called Piclens aka Cooliris which makes browsing large numbers of images a breeze. You can access these slideshows through the Album Actions drop down menu to the left of any album or link to directly by simply adding 'slideshow.html' at the end of the album's URL. Theres an options menu at the bottom right which controls speed and looping. And you can upgrade for free to a more powerful version of the applet which works in 3d by going to it's homepage...
There's a problem with the radio page which isn't working right now. I'm not sure what's wrong and I'm waiting to hear back from SDZ who should be able to shed some light. Having said that the stream works fine and can be accessed normally through the following link:
I've made a few changes to some of our forum names and description in an effort to make things more coherent. For example I've made the difference between the Music Releases and Music, Art and Creativity clearer (I hope!) by seperating them and renaming the latter to Creativity, Art and Music. I've also renamed Classifieds, For Sale / Lost and Found to just Classifieds. Put your hand up if you feel lost...
I've applied some behind the scenes changes which might have produced some temporary glitches earlier on. Apologies for any inconvenience and let me know if there are any more issues of course...
We've had a few more cancellations than usual recently and I want to be sure there isn't a technical problem behind them. So if any of you are in doubt about how your subscription is behaving I'd appreciate hearing from you...
I've just fixed an issue which was preventing those of you using Internet Explorer 7 from posting. Sorry for the inconvenience folks please let me know if problems remain...
I'm testing a new feature where you can list a mobile phone number against your forum user profile and be notified of new private messages or receive SMS directly from other members. Numbers will be kept private and for safety's sake the feature's only available to Staff and Subscribers for now at least. You'll find an explanation of how this works in your User Control Panel by following the link above and there's no charge for the functionality. If you have any problems post them in this thread...
Notice: Some providers require you to enable MMS for this to work. Try calling them for information about it (MMS) first before... [Read More]
We're getting low on disk space and I've decided to add a pair of new disks so you can expect some very brief disruption (~30 mins) or maybe none sometime over the next couple of weeks...
I've looked at the code for the old Boom and Work Shy styles and I don't see why I couldn't update them myself. So it's possible you'll have them available again shortly. All of which just leaves the question of whether we should keep the new style as the default or go back to Boom? What do you think?
It would be really cool if you could all sign up to the Opiate Den and show your support to help anyone who may come through.
It will need to be moderated and I am worried that anyone who posts could incriminate themselves since crime and drugs go hand in hand. Also, we are not all available all the time and your support is needed to make it work
If I could remember the way to invite I will try that, if not please could you join.
As I mentioned before, I don't think there will be much in the way of response but if there is we are there to support even if its's just a chat
2. Better profiles: Member profiles now have a chat feature, an improved list of friends, picture albums, visitor statistics and more background information.
I've just added another 250 mixes to the radio stream which means we now have a playlist of more than 800 files! And while I'm on the subject if you ever pick up on a really bad mix please let me know so I can remove it because they will occasionally slip through...
I'm considering upgrading our forum software and looks. How attached are you to it all? Moving ahead would also mean some changes, new features and some short term inconvenience...
I've disabled these for the entire board because it was causing problem for people subscribed to very busy threads. So from now on those of you wanting notifications will have to enable them manually. The option is available towards the top of every thread under Thread Tools > Subscribe to this Thread. You can also manage existing subscriptions in the User Control Panel under Manage Subscriptions...
Until now searching Party Vibe involved going to the section you were interested in (i.e: downloads, pictures, games or forum) and meant you couldn't search several areas at once or even the whole site (i.e: chat room archives, forum archive and articles). So in order to get round this limitation I've installed a custom search engine and added a link to it in the navigation menu at the top of every page:
We're getting ready for a week (3rd - 9th December) of special radio shows to celebrate PartyVibe being 10 years old on the 8th December 2007. Details will follow shortly but you can expect all the regulars and some special guests to be in attendance...
I've had to made some changes to our downloads section unfortunately because the internet being what it is people had to take advantage and tried to harm us using it last week. So from today only registered members, subscribers and staff can download files. And although registered members have a daily limit you can get round that by making a donation...
Party Vibe is almost 10 years old now and it's always been about freedom of information rather than elitism or secrecy but I've set up a private forum today and made it subscribers and staff only in order to give more back to the kind people who've supported us over the years. The aim here is to create an area where they can relax and talk privately without worrying about addressing the forum or the internet...

The move to our new server is done and everything seems to be working. We had a glitch between friday night and sunday morning where the internet decided we lived in two places at once (the old and the new server) because a change we made wasn't applied correctly but as soon as that was corrected things went back to normal...
/me : Crosses one more thing off his list for our 10th birthday!
We're looking for few willing souls to join the ranks of our moderators at the moment so if any of you think you've got what it takes please reply to this thread with a song, a youtube clip, a picture or anything that explains why you want to help and what you've got to offer. Cash bribes, offers of gratuatous sex and threats of violence will be treated accordingly...
I noticed some time ago the firefox spell check doesn't seem to be working for some people and I've not been able to fix it (despite trying) but it's on my list of course...
If anyone wants to play with the brand new server we're moving to very shortly to celebrate our 10th birthday in December you're welcome to visit: http://www.partyvibe.org/vbulletin/index.php although remember everything there will be wiped with the content of the old box when the time comes to change over. So great thanks to all those who keep the site going by showing their support, this is where your money goes! And bug reports are welcome of course...
For the sake of clarity I've moved all the sub-forums (Aztek, Headfuk, Strange Ways and TVC) and post from the Sound Systems section into one forum: Free Parties, I've also moved all the post from Event Listings: UK, US and World into one forum (Event Listings), SquatJuice is now a sub-forum of Parties, Community (rather than Main) and Meet up is now a sub-forum of Introductions not Main. The old URLs all now point to their new locations so there shouldn't be any getting lost or error messages for anyone...
A couple of people have complained about being too popular lately when they've been told by the system they have 65535 unread PMs in their inboxes. Having looked into why the rest of us have to live in their shadows it seems the problem's just cosmetic, should clear by just opening any of your PMs and only happen once for each user if at all because we can only dream of being that sought after. If you don't come back to earth after the experience, do let me know and I'll make sure you get a good talking to...
I learned yesterday that Yahoo in it's infinate wisdom started using greylisting recently which made it impossible for our members to receive email from us. I've corrected the problem now, contact me if you've had any problems and you need help...
Quote:
Greylisting (sometimes spelled graylisting) is a method of defending electronic mail users against e-mail spam. A mail transfer agent which uses greylisting will "temporarily reject" any email from a sender it does not recognize. If the mail
For anyone who wants to browse this website more discreetly, really doesn't want to see any advertising (but don't want to subscribe) or uses a dial up connection. Here's a reminder that we have a style designed specifically for those conditions called Work Shy which you can easily change to at the bottom of your screen on the left and includes no avatars, signatures or advertising. If that's still not discreet enough for you I suggest either using a text only browser like Lynx or disabling images in your browser settings... [Read More]

I've pleased to announce GoodDog will be taking over running the radio for a while. Biotech doesn't have the time at the moment but plans to come back to it eventually. Along with the change I've made GoodDog our newest moderator so please join me in wishing him well...
SDZ and I made some changes to the radio behind the scenes last week the main benefit of which is we now more than 400 sets in the pre-recorded stream for you to enjoy...
If anyone's seeing the wrong times on the forum you might want to look at your profile options. I've attached a copy of my settings for you to compare...
As well as some radio jingles we're also looking for your input with banners for the top of the page of each of our different styles (1 & 2). Again what you come up with's up to you but they should be 800*92 pixels in size and mention our name (ie: PartyVibe.com)...
We're interested in adding some jingles to our radio stream. If anyone out there wants to have a go we'd love to hear what you can come up with. So what you come up with is entirely up to you but try to keep it under one or two minutes and mention our name at least once...
You now have another way to embed youtube movies into the board using the new icon located at the top right of your text editor. The only information you need is the end part of the url for the clip rather than the whole url which you would have used with the [media][/ media] tag.
For example clicking this icon...
or typing the following code (without the spaces!)...
I've updated our gallery software to the latest release which comes with some new functionality. You can now list the most popular, latest, random pictures from the drop down menu at the bottom of the page. You can also send ecard emails to your mates with pictures attached. And view the latest comments written by guests...
Note: Although you can't use them in the chatroom unless you save them to hard disk and give them to me to add to the server they'll work fine with the forum!
You can embed our internet radio streams directly into your websites with our simple flash radio player, all that's required is to copy and paste the following HTML code...
You now have the opportunity to buy stickies (10 pence / day) for threads posted in the following forums: Event Listings and Advertisements. For the rest of the forum stickies stay at the discreation of your hard working and generally all round wonderful staff...
You can now embed google videos into the board again (it used to work with the 'media' tag) this time using the new google icon located at the top right of your text editor. The only information you need is the number of the clip you're adding which you'll find in the page's url (see attached)...
For example clicking this icon...
or typing the following code (without the spaces!)...
You can now embed myspace movies into the board using the new myspace icon located at the top right of your text editor. The only information you need is the number of the clip you're adding which you'll find in the page's url (see attached)...
For example clicking this icon...
or typing the following code (without the spaces!)...
We've had some issues with email delivery since monday (now fixed!). If you were expecting an e-mail or sent one between those dates to a partyvibe.com address or one of our hosted domains you should send it again...
I've added a couple of new packages to our advertising program for anyone who's interested in making a contribution towards keeping the site alive and earning themselves some exposure or referals...
For anyone who didn't catch today's discussion on the subject we now have a work safe version of the site with no embarasing banners or navbar with problem keywords (drugs, games, etc...). It's dead quick too so it's going to be faster than the rest and it'll work well with a PDA as well.
We've been building a new and more powerful server for ourselves behind the scenes which we're moving to sometime over the next few days so please be prepared for a short outage from us. While we're offline (it won't be more than a few hours) feel free to drop me a line through email to partyvibedotcom@hotmail.com
I've added a handy radio player to help anyone who was having trouble connecting to our stream. In order to open it, browse to the radio page and follow the link to join the stream...
Our Movies & Mp3s downloads section is going to have to stay closed to everyone except subscribers and staff temporarily because of a technical problem, apologises for the inconvenience...
I've added the means to give another member a subscription, just click the 'Gift Donation!' link on their profile page (bottom left in the screenshot)...
As of yesterday our internet radio stream is going out to the Shoutcast network as well as our existing connection to the Icecast network. The old link will continue to work but you should use this new one from now on:
Thanks to being on the dance valley press list I've received some movies and pictures of past events today which I'm in uploading to our downloads now...
Although I didn't say anything at the time we got Skype integration recently meaning those of you with accounts can be contacted through the Skype icons in your posts and profiles.
Anyone with an interest in starting their own myspace like journal or blog, you can now do it on our journal's page (for future reference I'm adding a permanent link to our site map)...
There's a new feature in the latest google toolbar that allows users to make their own buttons with shortcuts to different sections of their sites. I've created one for partyvibe, you can add it by clicking this link...
Our photo gallery is a public gallery. It can be viewed worldwide by all internet users. This includes officers of law enforcement agencies, and other anti-rave people who may pass info on to them! Do not upload any pictures which show you, your friends or any vehicles in an identifiable form at free parties (unlicensed rave events) or committing any illegal activity. People have been prosecuted in the UK and Europe because of photos uploaded to net galleries which show them next to rigs and rig vehicles. Don't be paranoid of taking photos for your memories; but think before you upload. If a cop saw this... [Read More]

Depending on whether the option is set or not by the person adding the party to the calendar, you can now let people know whether you're going to be there or not. For example: http://www.partyvibe.com/vbulletin/c...2005-12-10&c=1
From today we have a new link on every user's MEMBER PROFILE PAGE. When clicked it registers the user who clicked it has a crush, admires or respects the user whose profile he or she was viewing...

We'll host existing domains or give you a URL along the lines of yourname.partyvibe.com, some email addresses, a forum, picture galleries and whatever else you need to make your site work...
For anyone's who's interested we've now got a quick registration feature for the picture galleries that allows you to sign up and start adding pictures right away:
After some problems with the old chatroom I've changed to a much better one which you don't need to login into if you're registered, doesn't use java which was a problem for some people and doesn't have an authority certificate to accept. Anyway hope you like it and let me know what you think...
apologies if you are seeing "database errors" messages when trying to look at these forums. H has actually been taking time out from his holiday to sort these problems and we will try to get to the bottom of these and prevent them re-occuring too often....

Since the crash we've unfortunately decided not to rebuild some areas of the site for various reasons (PEL for one). All of which means, after 4 years of mail lists on partyvibe, bacchus isn't coming back I'm afraid :(
I've just added a feature in the 'What's Going On?' section of the forum homepage which allows you to see who's in our chatroom and how active they are. Also if any of you have an IRC client already installed, this link irc://irc.Prison.NET/#partyvibe will now allow you to log on directly...
I've added two new forum styles for you to choose from: Radio x and PDA. You check them out using the drop down menu on the bottom left hand side of your screen and set your permanent favorite in your control panel...
As of this weekend we now host projectscim. If you haven't heard of it before, it's an excellent free encrypted chat client for completely private online messaging and definately worth trying...
New funtionality includes a substantially improved calendar with support for recuring or ranged events and reminders, user reputations, lots of new thread view and posting options and better performance. Also we have an online chat client in the works as well...
On the guestbook I've noticed a couple (not many) comments on "stuff disappearing" from this board, expressing the inevitable worries that it may have been "removed by moderators" for whatever reason.
A few weeks ago a server upgrade unfortunately led to other technical problems; meant that many had to spend an entire weekend re-installing the board and recreating the databases where your messages are held. This was done using backup files; sadly, some data was lost.
The bulk of the messages were from the middle of October, but I've since noticed that quite a few other bits and pieces got trashed, including earlier posts, guestbook entries and even alterations to users profiles (like your sig... [Read More]

Sorry if partyvibe's been a bit slow this morning. I was working on it over the weekend and had a few loose ends to finish off today. It should all be fine from now though... Thanks.
I've upgraded our picture galleries to newer software and did some house keeping on them as well today. For the record you won't find them at the old address anymore, instead they've moved here...
Again you're free to write in for a gallery account of your own to add your pictures as well...
Also I've reorganised our pictures galleries so that they're all now sorted by upload date, except for the US and Raving Mad sections which shouldn't be getting any new images.
Finally I've created a section for you to display your pictures. If you'd like some space, write in for an account...
I've just updated the party pictures section with a good 7 or 8 hundred new party pictures. You'll find them all here and there's lots more to come... Enjoy.
I've moved all of our articles into a dynamic format over the last few weeks and consolidated them into one area*, and updated navigation. You can now see which other users are online* and message them privately*. You can also now rate articles, and sort them alphabetically, according to date, popularity or rating. Finally we have a new search engine*...

I created a pay pall account recently in order to allow us to accept donations. If you like the site, you're invited to offer us a small contribution. We're run entirely thanks to volunteer effort and hardware hand outs... That said, I've also updated the site with more than new 30 articles and news updates. You'll find them here, here, here and here.
