is there anyone below age 50 what lives in Essex and actually enjoys being there?

I know it can't be that fucking dire as otherwise it would be completley deserted,but being only 15 miles away from the border I meet a fair few people from essex and all the younger people want to do anything to get away (often leaving the UK altogether)

I actually have a sort of "spiritual connection" to Essex as I've got family there and could easily have grown up in Essex had certain things gone a different way in my life (this happened more than once too) and its seems like I have been destined to end up in East anglia..

also it was the hub of the early rave scene in the 90s particularly Romford and surrounding areas and I feel it has paid dearly for that due to the anti drugs backlash... it seems like now Middle England has really fought back and will do anything possible to ensure no one ever raves in Essex (or not very easily)...

well i live on the border of essex and london ... and allmost every one i know want to get out of the place .. alot of the ties to raves here have gone .. romford is the most chav place you will find on the planet .. and you go there at your own risk .. i know many a person who has got beaten up there jpust tring to go out for a good night .. 2 of my friends got stabed there one died .. and they were both the most placid of ppl you could meet ... i think this attitude from people that go out on nights to start fights has some thing to do with why people want to leave these areas as they just dont feel safe where they live

worst part of this is IMO its because the feds have been so successful at purging the area of overt drug use like raves etc (its a backlash from the old "essex boys" days of the 90s) and what they've done is got the ravers binge drinking again or onto worse drugs like smack and crack...

North Essex seems to be a bit more "rural" and mellower but even then I've been warned off going out in Colchester as its full of "squaddies (probably suffering mental illness because of what they experienced in the war) and cokeheads on steroids" (which hardly surprises me)

the thing is i have never really lived any where other then essex and london .. so can't really compare it to other places .. london is comleatly diferante to essex alltho you still get alot of shady chars .. then tend to be not of the "wide" boy type and more shady in london ... but i tell you when i moved to toque briefly .. i didn't see any of that crap gonig on .. but i was only there for a month or so .. i prefered it by miles tho to london or essex .. so its no onder every one want to leave essex .. i for one do

lots of people in South Essex want to look as "hard" as Londoners hence all the beef...

friends of mine have tried / are trying to put on events in Essex but the cops are really tight about security procedures (same as in Suffolk), they expect us to all do the met's "Safe and Sound" procedures

what really fucking annoys me is I bet there are loads of sound happy raver type people in Essex what just have to stay in or go London / Norfolk when they can as there's nothing in their county and its not their fault the scene got canned but all the violent gangsters what fight for dealing turf or even shoot up venues these days..
